Every now and then...sort of like the phrase "even a broken clock is right twice a day"....one gets a good result, but is stymied by the reason. And to make it all worse, you don't have a chance to continue working on the piece. You hook that record marlin and fight it for hours only to lose it at the last minute when the line breaks....leaving you speechless. Here is an example of the 'marlin' that got away. I really like this sketch from life, but am left wondering why it was such a  good start.  But to top it all off, the model never came back for additional posing time...the damn line just broke! I don't even have a photo from which to work...I forgot to ask for the permission to take one. I will never make that mistake again!
